BrightHeart’s AI detects fetal heart defects in real time

85% of execs say AI boosts RCM efficiency

1. GE HealthCare Rolls Out AI-Equipped SPECT/CT Nuclear Medicine Scanner

GE HealthCare has received FDA clearance for its new AI-powered SPECT/CT scanner, the Aurora, which integrates dual-head gamma ray SPECT with X-ray CT to enhance imaging capabilities across cardiology, oncology, and neurology. Equipped with Clarify DL deep learning software, the system improves image quality by reducing noise and increasing clarity. With a larger bore and broader detector coverage than other hybrid systems, it supports a wide array of radiopharmaceuticals and theranostics. The first U.S. installation will be at University Hospitals in Cleveland, following a long-term partnership with GE HealthCare. The scanner also holds CE Mark approval for use in Europe. [Link]

2. BrightHeart Gains Clearance for Heart Defect Detection Platform

BrightHeart has secured a FDA 510(k) clearance for its AI-driven prenatal congenital heart defect (CHD) detection platform, now allowing real-time analysis via a cart-side tablet. This enhancement enables clinicians to identify structural markers during fetal ultrasound exams, improving CHD detection rates by over 15%. The platform aims to make expert-level ultrasound diagnostics accessible across diverse clinical settings, regardless of resource levels. Following a successful pilot and rapid clearance through the FDA’s special 510(k) process, BrightHeart is preparing for a limited market release in U.S. clinics. The innovation addresses a critical global need, as CHDs affect 1% of births, with most untreated in low- and middle-income countries. [Link]

3. Vast Majority of Top Healthcare Execs Betting on AI For Rev Cycle Efficiencies

A new Everest Group survey, supported by Omega Healthcare, reveals that 85% of senior healthcare executives believe AI will significantly enhance revenue cycle management (RCM) efficiency within five years. These leaders view AI—including generative and agentic AI—not just as cost-saving tools but as strategic enablers of financial performance and patient-centric care. The survey highlights a shift from basic RCM outsourcing to AI-powered, outcome-based partnerships, with 66% of respondents naming AI/ML as their top investment priority by 2030. Despite adoption challenges like skill gaps and legacy system integration, healthcare providers are finding early success using AI for eligibility verification, claims analysis, and clinical documentation. The study forecasts a digital-first, AI-driven RCM landscape where advanced automation will become foundational to healthcare operations. [Link]
